Safety first

Keeping you and your cat safe.

Purrfect Strangers is a fun platform but real humans are involved. Please read these guidelines before arranging any in-person meetups between your cats.

⚠️
Important notice
Purrfect Strangers connects cat profiles — not people directly. Any in-person meetup between cats and their humans is entirely voluntary and at your own discretion. We are a platform, not a matchmaking service for humans, and we are not responsible for any in-person interactions. Please use your best judgment and prioritize your personal safety at all times.
Before you meet in person
💬
Video chat first
Before meeting in person, arrange a video call with the other cat's human. Get a sense of who they are and make sure you feel comfortable.
📍
Meet in public
For a first meeting, choose a public place like a park or pet-friendly café. Never invite a stranger directly to your home for a first meeting.
👥
Bring a friend
You don't have to go alone. Bringing a friend to a first cat meetup is completely reasonable and always a good idea.
📱
Tell someone
Always let a friend or family member know where you're going, who you're meeting, and when you expect to be back.
🐱
Cats first
Remember — the point is the cats. Keep the first meeting short, neutral, and stress-free for both animals.
🚗
Drive yourself
Have your own transportation so you can leave whenever you want. Don't depend on the other person for a ride.
Trust your instincts

If something feels off, it probably is. You are never obligated to meet anyone from this platform in person. Trust your gut — it's usually right.

Consider it a red flag if someone:
Pressures you to meet quickly or in private
Refuses to video chat before meeting
Asks for personal information like your address early on
Becomes aggressive or inappropriate if you say no
Their story about their cat doesn't add up
Asks you to keep the meetup secret from friends or family
Reporting & blocking

If you encounter a profile or user that seems suspicious, inappropriate, or makes you uncomfortable, please report it immediately. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.

You can report a profile by clicking the report button on any profile page, or by emailing us directly. We reserve the right to remove any profile or user at any time for any reason.

Cat meetup safety

Cat introductions require patience. Even if two cats are a great match on paper, meeting in person takes time. Here are some tips for a safe and stress-free cat meetup:

Always keep both cats in carriers for the first introduction
Choose a neutral location — not either cat's home territory
Keep the first meeting short — 15 to 20 minutes maximum
Watch for stress signals: flattened ears, puffed tail, hissing
Never force interaction — let them set the pace
Make sure both cats are up to date on vaccinations before meeting
By using Purrfect Strangers you agree to our Terms of Service. Purrfect Strangers is a platform that connects cat profiles. We are not responsible for any in-person interactions between users. All meetups are entirely at the discretion and risk of the individuals involved. If you experience an emergency, please contact local emergency services immediately.
