Temporary fosters give cats a safe place to land while they wait for their forever home — and occasionally, you end up keeping them. Ask us how we know.

AHS covers all medical care — vaccinations, surgeries, emergencies — and can often help with basic supplies too. You provide the safe space and the snuggles.

How adoption works

Browse & apply

Visit the Austin Humane Society to meet available cats and complete an adoption application. It's free and takes about 10 minutes.

Meet & greet

AHS will review your application and arrange a meeting with your potential new family member.

Welcome home

Once approved, your new cat comes home with you. They handle the paperwork. You handle the love.
