Built by a cat person.
Inspired by cats.
Purrfect Strangers started as a silly idea and became something we genuinely believe in — a place where cats get the spotlight, shelters find adopters, and humans connect over the thing they love most.

Apu was a calico who arrived as a foster and, like all the best cats, simply refused to leave. She was serious, beautiful, and had a way of looking at you that made you feel simultaneously judged and completely loved.
She passed away in October 2022 and left an Apu-shaped hole that nothing will ever fill. Purrfect Strangers is dedicated to her. She would have reviewed every profile on this site with exacting standards and zero patience for nonsense. We miss her every day.
"I set out to foster a cat temporarily through the Austin Humane Society. That cat was Pumpkin — a rare female orange tabby who showed up, decided she lived here now, and never left. Foster fail number one.
Then came Pickles — also through the Austin Humane Society. A tuxedo kitten who arrived as a foster, took one look at Pumpkin — who is older — decided she was her mother, and never left. Foster fail number two.
I have since fostered Soprano and Alto — two bottle babies named by the Austin Humane Society who performed a two-part harmony about food approximately eighteen hours a day. It was hard, but I did not keep them. They found their people.
Somewhere between all of this, I thought: cats deserve a dating site. Not for humans to find other cat people — there are plenty of those. For the cats themselves. With profiles, purrsonality quizzes, and a Chief Matchmaking Officer who would have absolutely approved of this whole thing."

Every cat deserves a purrfect match.
Purrfect Strangers connects cat owners for playdates and friendships, and partners with shelters nationwide to help adoptable cats find forever homes — all through the magic of dating profile energy and a very serious purrsonality quiz.
